D. J. Stone grew up in Warwick, where he worked as a musician and producer. So, in spite of the fact that he moved
to Texas years ago, he related all to well to the tragedy that struck so many Rhode Islanders. He saw the ghastly images
of the Station fire on television and found an expression for his hurt and empathy for those affected as all artists do, through
his work.
"Eddie" became an anthem of healing for his personal tragedy as well as for the victims of the Station fire, for whom
the song was written.
